Student Book reviews

Joy of Room 19 has the following to say of a book from the Library:

A great book I read recently was Wonder Struck by Brian Selznick.
This is a great book with lots of action and a surprising ending.
Wonder Struck tells the stories of Ben and Rose and as the story goes, their two stories intertwine.
One of my favourite lines in the story goes like this:

"We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars."

I really recommend this book. It will take you on a "wonder striking" journey.

Thank you Joy - I can definitely recommend this book also - a very clever melding of two tales that meet at the end, and told through text and pictures.

Danielle of Room 19 has this to say of a book she read recently:

If you love action-packed romance, amazing novels, the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson are for you.
These 8 books follow avian hybrids Max, Fang, Gazzy, Angel, Iggy and their dog Total through crazy fights, freezing cold, pyscho Erasers (no, not the rubber ones) and of course sarcastic comebacks.
These kids are not your ordinary, well-mannered children, they are 98% human and 2% birds, who never obey adults and are butt-kicking, rebellious fighting machines.
Be ready for a  Maximum Ride!

Tayla of Room 20 also has a review:

A great series I have read is The Hunger Games.
The book is full of suspense and surprise with a story-line that is very gripping and interesting. The main character Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her younger sister's place in a reality TV show, where the only rule is to kill or be killed.
But the skill of survival for sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen is second nature.

Thank you to the above students for their comments.
